The Visayan region of the Philippines has been severely damaged and devastated by the Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) on November 8, 2013. It is considered the deadliest and strongest Philippine tropical cyclone recorded, thousands of lives were lost and millions of Filipinos were affected. The region is immensely destructed. Their houses, livelihood and other sources of income are totally destroyed.
According to Southern Asia-Pacific Division President Alberto C. Gulfan, Jr., a number of members remain missing. Several Adventist churches in Central Visayan Conference were either badly damaged or completely destroyed.
San Antonio Fil-am International SDA church initiated an Adopt a Church program, wherein a couple of severely damaged SDA churches were chosen to receive our assistance. Fil-am has adopted Caritan and Pandanan SDA churches, both were located in Patnongon, Antique, Philippines. The latter was newly established as a result of the recent Fil-am’s medical mission of this year.
The members of these churches desperately need our help and prayers. They have lost everything. We would like to appeal for your assistance. They are in need of clothing suitable for tropical climate. For those who would like to give monetary assistance, please make your donations payable to: San Antonio Fil-Am International SDA church. Receipts will be issued to you.
Let us help restore and rebuild their lives. Your generosity and kindness would give us a chance to express our love and unity in action.
Let us pray for the recovery and restoration of the victims of the super typhoon. We pray that they will find peace and continue to hope and to look forward to the eternal kingdom that our Lord is preparing for us. You may donate by clicking here.
